Umami is no traditional curry house as evening diners can choose from the delicious a la carte menu which offers a combination of traditional favourites like Korma and more unusual dishes like Umamis signature dish, Khandhari lamb shank, tender melt-in-your mouth lamb slow cooked in an array of delicate herbs and spices to create a delicious medium spiced curry. The a la carte menu offers an equal weighting of meat and vegetarian main courses. At lunch, diners can enjoy a 2 course set lunch menu, complete with poppadums and homemade pickles everyday between 12 and 3pm. And if youre popping in for a quick drink, Umami has delicious bar snacks, available between 12 - 6pm everyday! Umamis interior is simple and elegant with the emphasis of the design placed on bespoke furniture and comfortable seating, complemented by exposed brickwork and a rich colour palette of chocolate browns and cream.

I went to this restaurant by chance and was really impressed. Well worth a visit if you enjoy Indian food.

Exceptional food and service however it was the overall ambience that really impressed me most. I would definantly recommed this restaurant as a must try.

Yes, the space is chic and the service is good. The food, though, is on the bland side and is a league behind the other top notch Indian restaurants in Nottingham like Kayal, Curry Lounge and Cumin. I'd go again just for the stylish interior - but when I went the background music was way too loud.

Visited Umami with my wife who is not normally a great fan of Indian food. We both had a wonderful time with great food andefficient service all in a great modern environment. Highly recommended.

A friend claimed Umami's to be the best restaurant they'd been to in years. So with high expectations my wife and I went along on a Thursday night and we weren't disappointed. I think the best thing about Umami's, (beside the delightfully friendly staff) is that they will cook your food hot, medium, mild or 'desi' as you specify. So if you are like my wife and hate all things spicy, there is still a quantity of delicious meals available for you! Brilliant food and as i say, most pleasant staff, looking forward to going back.
