  • 1 Nothing to write home about

food felt like it had been left for a little too long, the service was good and they came around with many dishes which had been freshly cooked however the buffet was disappointing. All felt a little communal foodish for me for the price

  • 4 Flaming Good Value..!!

Lucky me, study at Hallam Uni in Sheffield and live in Notts, now get to eat at my fave Flaming Chinese home & away! Food is Fab value, tons o choice includes starters & desserts, worth a hunger-strike the day before to max out the 'All U can eat'! Loads of extras in the evenings like sushi & bbq brought to your table. Service & decor are more than adequate for the style of dining. Love the new local-Uni-girlies they have doin drinks at weekends, well worth it....!!

  • 4 The best Chinese restaurent in Nottingham

I went to the Flaming Dragon for the 1st on my birthday in April and they a great selection of food which you can have as much as you want. So if you are looking for some were to have a Chinese meal before a film at the corner or before going to a concert at the royal concert hall or theatre royal I recommend it.

  • 4 Enjoyable and good value!

Visited Flaming Dragon several times when going the cinema at the Cornerhouse. Really enjoyed the food although the selection could be larger. A great salad bar for those not looking for the usual Chinese cuisine and good value for money I thought. Excellent and attentive staff plus a good relaxed atmosphere. Will be visiting again soon!!

  • 2 ok chinese buffet

This is buffet style and prices are currently £12.50 a head. All the food is very sugary, salty and fatty. There are a large selection of tasty and fresh starters. The mains are pretty average and lack quality ingredients. The rice and noodles are pretty good however. The duck is highly recommended and the best thing about the flaming dragon. Tepanyaki is highly recommended where you choose the items you want and they fry it for you. The food is fresh and customized. The desserts are pretty standard ice cream, jelly and small cakes. The atmosphere is wonderful with nice layout, music and bathrooms are spotless.

  • 3 Bit of a let down

Flaming Dragon is one of a number of oriental all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants that seem to have sprung up all over Nottingham. The lunch time offering is very reasonably priced and similar to the full evening menu. Starters and nibbles are perfectly edible; however, the sauces for the more traditional fare seem to taste the same and are just too sweet. The evening selection is a little more varied and satisfying, with the added touch that huge spears of freshly cooked speciality meats are brought round during the course of your meal and served at your table, should you wish. Strangely though, this seems to continue while you’re eating pudding (spicy pork with my ice cream? I’ll pass).Very conveniently located in the Cornerhouse, but I wouldn’t really recommend during the day unless you’re desperate for some Chinese or just need to fill a hole in your stomach.

  • 3 Disappointing

After checking this place out from the outside, I had high expectations as it looked really classy and the food appeared high quality. However, flaming dragon was a let down for me. The starters were all really tasty but I felt most food choices were covered in batter thus limiting my choice. Main meal selection was sparse and surprisingly there was less on offer than the starter selection! Tepanyaki is good although don't expect to have a conversation with the cook as most cant seem to speak English and simply nod at you. Prices are cheap which helps a great deal.

  • 3 Oh my Flaming tummy is too full!

The Flaming Dragon is situated in The Cornerhouse, a complex in the centre of Nottingham housing several bars & restaurants and also a cinema. It is the perfect place to go to eat after you have emptied your purse/wallet in the cinema because of the low price. It is self service and the food is oriental ranging from Chinese to Thai. It is hardly the connoisseur's choice but the food is nevertheless of a reasonable standard. The kids loved it, largely because of the selecton of desserts and the opportunity to serve yourself to ice cream!

  • 3 Fast track to a heart attack!

Flaming dragon is really well situated in the corner house so it has really easy access from the town center. Prices are really reasonable and the atmosphere is well created to give a relaxing yet lively feel. A good place for groups of people to celebrate any occasion with plenty of food to feast on. The food however, is full to the brim with oil and grease. The starters are delicious but I wouldn't recommend much of the selection to those who are health conscious. Main course meals are limited in choice but there is a tepanyaki service to create your own. Desserts are also limited.
