  After visiting lots of different shops, being horrified at prices and customer services I stumbled across Maxine and Dawn's wonderful wonderful shop Couture Bridal. Not only were their dresses beautiful, they were unique. Couldn't believe that I could suddenly afford a made to measure dress in pure silk! After trying on a number of their designs, I was able to create my beautiful wedding dress that fitted like a glove and looked amazing. Helpful, down to earth, really supportive, and amazing designers/dress makers. I cannot recommend Courture Bridal enough. A few months later my sister got married, and I was asked to be bridesmaid. My sister works in Germany and Amercia, so was trying to organise her wedding over the phone/internet. Six bridesmaids in total, I was the only adult. The children's dresses were gorgeous, but not suitable for an adult. Maxine and Dawn to the rescue again!! They looked at a photo of the little girls dresses and made me a beautiful adult version for me. My sisters wedding was just as she wanted it, and partly thanks to Couture Bridal. • The dream dress...

  After seeing a dress I loved in another shop (but completely couldn't afford!) I visited Maxine- who it turms out can make dreams come true! She offered to make something similar (but even better!) at a much more reasonable price. Nothing was too much trouble and over the 8 months that it took to make my dress it was possible to make alterations that wouldn't have been possible if I'd bought off the peg... When we confronted glitches and I got nervous that I'd asked for the wrong thing Dawn and Maxine really came into their own and were fabulously reassuring and professional. They were in fact SO good that they ended up making my Mum's dress, jacket and fascinator and 4 completely different bridesmaid dresses in the same fabric, for my gorgeously different Bridesmaids. I'd HIGHLY reccommend Couture Bridal to any potential Bride to be- you won't be dissappointed with your dress- I felt a million dollars in mine and received so many compliments on the day. Thank you both for all of your help, support and the giggles we had along the way! The dresses were so beautiful- I never thought that I'd get my dream dress but it turns out Dawn & Maxine can take your ideas and turn them into something even more beautiful than you could possibly dream of...

• A truly beautiful dress

  I went to Dawn and Maxine with some photos of 1950s style wedding dresses and they advised me on what would and wouldn't suit me. After a couple of fittings I got cold feet as I wasn't sure if the style suited me so I paniced and rang them. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt reassured. After a few added touches such as an ivory satin sash and lace 50s bolero with tiny pearls to match the bodice, I had my dream dress... and was even able to wear it in the evening with red shoes and twirl on the dance floor all night!. Everyone commented on how beautifully made it was and how it had a truly vintage look. Thank you both for making me feel so special on my wedding day!

• Wonderful Wedding Dresses....

  WOW!! Couture Bridal Design was the first shop that I visited looking for my wedding dress - I was very nervous, but needn't have been as Maxine was brilliant!! All of the other shops didn't open until 10am, so I wandered in to Couture Bridal Designs....Maxine suggested what she thought would suit me and nothing was too much trouble. Everything she put me in was fab, and the way she pinned me in to them I felt I could have gone out like that!! I did go to a couple more shops to have a browse, but they were all so unfriendly and said that I needed to buy something NOW in order to get it for November - Maxine said it was fine for them to make it to my exact measurements within the five months we had left!! They then even managed to get my Bridesmaid's dress done too!!! The whole expereince was just amazing, and both Maxine and Dawn helped to make a dress that was just stunning. One of my guests commented that it is they first dress they had seen that looked as beautiful from the back as it did from the front!!! They had covered every detail wonderfully! It made my day having a dress that I felt so happy and comfortable in, and that I felt suited me perfectly - thank you both so very much for everything!!!

• Brilliant Services and Gorgeous Dresses

  Dawn and Maxine were very friendly and helpful and provided a relaxed atmosphere both at the initial browse and throughout the choosing and fittings of the dress. They were both more than willing to offer advice and incorporate any changes I wanted to see. My dress was amazing and received lots of compliments on the day as did the bridesmaids dresses. Dawn and Maxine were very helpful with the bridesmaids fittings as not all could make the same appointments and Dawn and Maxine turned round one of the dresses in a matter of weeks for a bridesmaid from Australia. I would definitely recommend Couture Bridal Design to anyone looking for the perfect dress.

• The perfect wedding dress!

  I found Couture at the very first wedding fayre I went to and couldn't get the dress out of my mind! Maxine & Dawn were fabulous in helping me choose my dress and were very supportive, especially as I had no bridesmaids and my Mum & Dad live abroad, given the volcanic ash they were actually prevented getting over for my wedding but Maxine & Dawn were great. The dress was perfect and so much more than I could have dreamed of, the colour was amazing and I had so many great comments about it. They were so helpful in helping me choose my jewellery and tiara, all made to match the same colour as my dress - perfect! All in all a fabulous service and one that I highly recommend to any future bride, I wouldn't go anywhere else!

  To Maxine and Dawn I can’t put into words how grateful I am to you both for designing the most exquisite wedding dress . Let me take you through my wedding planning year! Trawling through pages and pages of bridal magazines I dreamed of having a mermaid design dress, but being an ample size 18 didn’t think this was possible. Enter Maxine and Dawn! Right from the first day we walked into your boutique you put me at ease, your friendliness was so refreshing after some of the others we had been to. After speaking with you that first time I knew I didn’t want to go anywhere else. And every visit since nothing was too much trouble for you, even changing half the design half way through! So after 2 visits I decided to change the skirt, this wasn’t a problem for Max and Dawn – they gave me a fishtail skirt to try on because they had listened to me - and it was magical! I couldn’t wait for the fitting in the silk material and it lived up to all expectations. I took my Mum and best friend/matron of honour to the final fitting and there were tears all round. When I put my dress on, on the 14th August I felt I was the most beautiful person alive! My husband to be had tears in his eyes and said I looked like a princess! Sounds like a cliché but that is how I felt. I swished and twirled all day long and to all you brides to be out there - you will have the time of your life! I have recommended Courture Bridal to anyone who will listen! My dress is still hanging in the spare room and every now and again I unzip it and wish I could do it all again! Thank you so much Maxine and Dawn, you listened, cared and advised without judgement and I thank you both so much for this; and to anyone reading this, you have made the right choice and most definitely won’t be disappointed. • The best wedding dress in the world.

  Maxine and Dawn are professional and friendly. The finished result was perfect. They designed and made for me the dress of my dreams made for my bodyshape which was not possible with an off the peg dress. Everybody on the day commented on how beautiful my dress was and it helped make the day really special. The suggestions they made were spot on. I would definitely recommend them. Thanks.

• A Fab 1950's effort!

  I wanted a 1950's style dress which was shorter than most of the dresses available elsewhere. I took in a picture of the style I wanted and the girls managed to design and make a dress that was absolutely perfect. They were extremely helpful and willing to listen throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend the girls to anyone.The dresses (including 2 bridesmaids) were absolutely beautiful. Many thanks...

• Great service and fabulous designs

  Maxine and Dawn are total perfectionists and will make you exactly what you want in a wedding dress. They also made my six bridesmaid dresses which looked stunning. They plan fittings really well and will change things as you go along if you have new ideas.They're also dead honest with you if something doesn't look right which was very helpful! I would definitely recommend them.
