Le Mistral is the ideal venue for the busy shopper or hungry office worker during the daytime and a friendly un-pretentious restaurant ideal for groups or couples in the evening. This delightful restaurant is spread over 2 floors and serves freshly cooked tasty food 7 days a week.
I wouldn't even give this any stars to be honest. Came about a year ago and was ok - not brilliant but sufficient for the value, but went recently and staff are really arrogant, food is poor and takes ages to arrive, but the worst thing is the added extras they send you home with - a good dose of vomiting guaranteed to keep you up all night. When we advised the management they were not interested in the slightest and tried to suggest that we had drunk too much! Poor on so many levels!
Lovely place, great staff. perfect for an evening meal or quick coffee during the day. Menu is ever changing so you really could go every week and have something different.
This is actually a preview as the event is on THURSDAY 28th AUGUST from 7pm upstairs at Le Mistral. The DIY Collective are a group of performance poets who create a great atmosphere & a fun night out with acoustic music & old french jazz style vinyl played in the intervals. Pop along it's FREE and something different.
I found this restaurant / bistro great value at lunch time. They've started doing 2 or 3 course set lunches at really good prices (from £8.95) and the dishes are tasty with a meat, fish & vegetarian option. Nice atmosphere & friendly staff. Check it out for yourself.
Really good food without trying to be clever . A wine list to suit any mood (or price range) - where else can you get Prosecco by the glass? Although to be fair we always have a bottle. Breakfast, lunch or dinner - it's great any time. Best of all (perhaps) are the Gourmet Nights. I love how generous and good the dishes are (if anyone at Mistral reads this, do another Polish night) - taxi please! We go to most of the independents in Nottm at least once. Mistral almost every week (including Sherwood).
It's one of those restaurants / bars that is great because on the special few know about it. The food is spectacular, staff fun, conversational, happy and enjoy making sure you have a great dining experience. As a single businessman you need a little more than food and drink when you go out, welcomed to the bar, given coffee and local information which made for a friendly night out. If you love wine... Go here. Wine list is very well thought out.
