  • 5 Best Indian

Today we went again to Kayal and had a fantastic meal. We thought it was the best romantic restaurant in town. The Valentine menu was fabulous, we had mix strter and the salmon and chicken for mains. Great experience and we will be back

  • 5 Wonderful restaurant experience!

I conducted my b’day party at Kayal on Feb 6th and felt that they should be appreciated by all means. We were a group of 20 and all of us liked the dishes served by them. It was a busy day for them but the effort that they put in to make everyone happy, not just us, should be appreciated. I had been there before as well and I would suggest you to try their ‘Meen Porichathu’ at least once. The price can’t be considered as cheap, but it is reliable and worth every penny.

  • 5 It was as if I was back in Kerala!

I walked past and thought, a Kerala restaurant... I've got to check this one. When I called to make a booking, to check if the place was authentic, I started to speak in Malayalam, the language of Kerala. I was rather surprised that the staff could speak like a local too! A very good start. The food was excellent. Traditional and very authentic. The seafood and crab were really tasty and the flavours of coconut and spices mixed beautifully. The service was pretty good and the price, good value. I was pretty impressed with Kayal, they even had real coconuts to drink from! It's a great place and I will be going again.

  • 5 Keep going...Kayal

Kayal is our favourite restaurant and we always enjoy the food and ambience there. Recently we tried their imitation in a small town in Nottinghamshire and I must say that copy is always a copy. Keep the standard and keep going. Your individuality is exceptional and be proud when someone does not know what they do... try to copy you

  • 5 best indian food

i am an ardent lover of food and love to eat out but had never tasted south indian food before apart from the usual masala dosa , even in india. food at kayal is out of this world and healthy too didnt feel bloated the next morning from the heavy cream isage in north indian food , could feel the spices minus the vindaloo style , i would recomend kayal to all food conoissuers where quali9ty doesnt come for a price unlike places on maid marian way specially during the present times of the crunch

  • 4 Not You're Ordinary Indian

If you're looking for a chicken balti go elsewhere. If you are looking for something new and different then you have got the right place. When I first went to the Kayal, I was pleasantly surprised by the decor, the friendly staff and how different the menu was, compared to other indian restaurants. There were only two menu items that I was familiar with - The Dosa (which are thin on the ground in Nottingham) and a biriany. All of the other menu items were exciting and different for me. I had a lovely evening and enjoyed the food enormously.I have since attended my friends' wedding where I was delighted to find they had chosen to have it catered by the Kayal, the food that day was as lovely as the wedding. I look forward to the next time I go to the Kayal.

  • 5 Unique in Nottingham

I have eaten at a huge number of Indian Restaurants in Nottingham and while many are good this is unique for being so different. Beautifully cooked original dishes with delicate and subtle flavours were presented by attentive and friendly staff. Unlike Tom W we went late on Saturday and it was rammed. Great atmosphere though
