  Hi there, just wanted to share my wonderful news with everyone. At 38 years of age, i have just become pregnant after only 3 months of donations from a wonderful guy. It's going to take a while to fully sink in but i can't tell you how exciting it feels. Thanks so much to Emma and her team for making this possible. What a fabulous job you guys do!   stages when I knew nothing! I have used two donors from this site and both were polite and very understanding. After a couple of months off, my new donor donated for me four times and I got pregnant on the fourth attempt. I'm so pleased as I'm 39 years old and I thought it would take forever. I even visited a Harley Street clinic recently to look at my options there. I'm so glad it worked this way as I now haven't wasted all my money on trying to make a baby, but can spend it on him/her when they arrive!

• The real thing

  I'm heading towards 40, single, and felt that, as I've always dreamt of being a mum, having a baby by a donor was the most responsible route - rather than railroad some guy into an "accidental" pregnancy, or miss out on a lifelong heartfelt desire. But I didn't want to use a clinic, as I wanted to know my donor... after all, the nature/nurture thing is still an open debate, and any baby I may have is going to carry his genes. So, I found this site and signed up, and have found a great donor who I'm starting AI with this month - fingers crossed! The service is excellent, and not full of weirdoes or timewasters - I had loads of contacts and also actively searched the donor profiles to find the right person. I can strongly recommend this site to anyone like me, single and for whom the clock is ticking, or who for any other reason will be having a baby with a donor - one month's subscription was all I needed, whereas clinics charge thousands that in my opinion would be more wisely invested in raising a child.
