I went along to Nottingham IVC on a Tuesday night a while ago. I didn't know anyone in Nottingham so thought I might as well give it a go. Everyone was welcoming, there are lots of different events to try (some are even free) and the membership for the year was only £25. In the last few months I've done lots of different things and met lots of different people. There was someone on hand on my first night so I didn't feel like Billy no mates, I got a months free membership to give me a chance to try it out and you get a monthly bulletin with all the events listed in it once you join. It's made my new life in Nottingham much easier!

I'm new to Nottingham and needed to find some friends and some social life. I found Nottingham IVC and plucked up enough courage to go along to their weekly meeting a couple of weeks ago. I was a bit worried about just going up to complete strangers but it was made easier because they have their own room (upstairs at the Trip to Jerusalem) so I knew it was the right place. I was made to feel really welcome. A nice woman sat me down and explained how it all works, nice and easy, and I took them up on their offer of free trial membership. After all, I had nothing to lose. I met loads of other people who went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I arranged to go on a walk and to a meal. I left knowing that I'd made the right decision. I've since been on those events and had a really good time and arranged to go on some more. This really has given me an instant social life and I've already met loads of people who I know are going to be friends for a long time. Quite simply I cannot recommend it strongly enough. Sally
