maybe the best food ive eaten in the last two years, good service and well presented alot better than world service and the likes of....nothing is to much to ask for! And the owners actually work along with staff.excellent, well done boys
We have visited Tom Browns several times now and have been impressed with the consistently great food and service. Have been there for a number of special occasions and have recommended it to friends, who have also loved it! It has a perfect atmosphere; lively but not intrusive. Try and get a seat upstairs by the big window, great views!

As a client of Tom Browns for many years now I find it hard to pick fault on any occasion, their staff are young but friendly, and the food is always up to scratch, with 2 menus to choose from, a great value Earlybird and a varied a la carte, I always recommend Tom Browns to my friends and they also always enjoy it. I would have to agree the only downfall is the lack of parking space directly outside the establishment, but the pros far outweigh the cons!
Visited on my birthday. We had to wait for an hour an a half for the main course. When I complained I was literally told that if I wanted "fast food" then I should clear off to McDonalds. Reminded me of Basil Fawlty ! No discount on the bill.
16 of us ate here on a Sunday. Despite meticulous planning with pre-ordered menu & a seating plan, some very basic things totally incorrect. Seating wrong, a specially requested tomato soup that was very poor, Main course that didn't arrive & side orders totally messed up. Embarrassing and tactless confrontation at the table by front of house manager which was unforgivable. Bill was adjusted accordingly & very fairly.
I have yet to have a bad experience at this restaurant. The food is superb and the service is very good. Their prices for the early bird menu are very resonable and so is the wine list. They have theme nights that sound great but I have yet to sample one. Well, it had to come, their only downfall is parking. You have to park in neighbouring estiblishments. It is situated next to the river Trent and it is very pleasant to take a walk along the river into the beautiful countryside.
Having visited Tom Browns for at least six years on a regular basis,I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal or indeed poor service! I recommend Tom Browns to all of my friends and colleagues and on every occasion they have enjoyed the experience. The restaurant caters for all age groups and has a vibrant atmosphere, fantastic waiting staff, who go out of there way to ensure that you enjoy your dining experience and to top it all the food is delicious! If you have not visited this restaurant yet, I would highly recommend it, you don't know what you are missing!
We visited this restaurant on my birhtday with high hopes for the food. On this special occasion we also brought our 2 year old to act as restaurant critic. Overall the food was poor, having little flavour, and poorly presented. Why do restaurants like Tom Brown's (who were very keen to get us to vote for it in the Nottingham Restaurant Awards) think that all veggies want Goat Cheese Filo tarts. When we left they seemed very quick to take our money and didn't want to listen to any complaints. We will not be visiting again despite the fact that it is local to us and we wanted to be impressed. Avoid.
